Ceylon OP. Pettiagalla is a black tea from a plantation in the Dimbula region of Sri Lanka.
Black tea is actually called by the Chinese « red tea ». Indeed, like Europeans, Chinese are based on the colour of the liqueur and not on the leaf. Mostly consumed in Europe, black tea appeared in a somewhat accidental manner during the 16th century. Indeed, the tea trade at the time between the
China and England (turning plate of the tea trade in Europe) were mainly by boat. The tea imported green at the base, spending several months in the wet holds of the ships arrived at destination having undergone fermentation and oxidation, passing the leaves from green to black. Far from displeasing, Europeans were
quickly conquered by this drink. In addition to the accidental anecdote, it would seem more that the Chinese worked the leaves differently before making them travel so that they would better resist the conditions.
Composition:100% black tea
