Chelbessa coffee is collected in Gedeo area and exported by SNAP. The company, which has long been based in Addis Ababa, has deployed in the specialty coffee sector to offer the best Ethiopian specialty coffees. This coffee meets fine taste requirements and comes from a natural environment rich in Yirgacheffe name.

CHELBESSA

The washing station is located in the village of Chelbessa, exactly in the place called Danche, in the Gedeo area, in the Gedeb Woreda.

It is located more than 2000m above sea level and was created in 2019 by SNAP.

It selects red cherries from 476 small producers, who work on land around Chelbessa.

Coffee grows in semi-forest, shaded by trees and close to food crops, such as banana trees.

Here SNAP has installed tiled fermentation tanks and 164 drying beds, 100 are for washed coffees, 64 for nature coffees.

Producer history

SNAP has been established in Addis Ababa since 2008. It was created by Ato Sisay in order to ensure the export of lots of coffees Yrgacheffe and Guji, with the aim of creating strong ties with the peasants who produce them.

 

SNAP operates 3 drying and washing stations across Ethiopia. Two in Gedeo area, in the districts of Cheleletu and Kochere. Another in the Guji area in Nensebo (West Arsi)

Coffees are prepared by SNAP with the utmost care and the company is regularly recognized for its rigorous work. Several SNAP coffees have indeed recognized international prices.
